Ability to sketch ideas quickly or visualize a story is vital for a designer. Here are examples of my drawing and illustration skills.
Concept Illustrations
To showcase a concept opportunity, I often hack quick photoshop renders and complement these with moodboards or magazine covers. They are great to give a concept a sense of reality and revoke a quick reaction from people.
Design Direction Sketches
Even as a design manager, sketching ideas with the creative team often makes dialogue faster and easier. Quick hand drawings help to share the ideas and minimize misunderstanding.
Car Sketches
I've always loved sketching cars, and this love does not seem to fade. They can be anything: in-meeting doodling, drawing technique excercises or illustrations of friends' cars. Hand sketching is also great way to quickly explore 3D shapes and develop one's sense of light and reflection.
